Ghostery made memory use soar and FF crash
I've had to remove ghostery from Firefox bc suddenly it seemed to make the memory usage soar until it crashed. I tried many solutions but Mozilla support said error had to do with Ghostery and recommended disabling it. Since I've removed G the browser has been running fine and the memory usage is stable, not soaring for no reason. Can you guys fix this bug so I can continue to use G? Thanks

I'm having the same issue, seems to be a memory leak. I had FF taking up 2GB of memory earlier, with it rising, with no flash tabs open or anything. When I disabled Ghostery and restarted browser, things went back to normal.

Hi everyone thanks for waiting. We've just uploaded 5.0.2beta to AMO which is available here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
This fixes the ABP and other content blocker conflicts with Ghostery, so if you're interested in testing 5.0 release, please upgrade. We'll notify you when the final 5.0 is going to be out here as well.
Note: a browser restart may be needed after the installation. -

Behaving better than 5.0.1. Still not quite right. FF is using constant 15-25% CPU on MBP 2.4Ghz.
Usually FF idles <1% -

I am filled with chagrin from bad science. Installed 5.0.2beta and enabled a couple of other addons at the same time. Disabled back to baseline addons + Ghostery and FF is idling @ 1%'ish. Woohoo!

I have had this problem for a week, and it seems to be corrected with v. 5.0.3, as well as a new version of Firefox v. 23.0.1
CPU usage was nearing 100% but is now back below 10%
Thanks! -

G 5.0.3, Firefox v. 23.0.1 (Win)
Browser was slow and often when redirects occured browser didn't react any more and allocated more and more memory.
After switching back to Ghostery 2.9.6 everything is fine. -

G 5.0.4 is somewhat better than ver. 9.0.3. Redirect problem seems solved and a little bit faster. Yet still significant slower than ver 2.9.6.
For me Ghostery is now a Lame Duck! -
