PROBLEM: Ghostery is only supported on recent versions of Firefox. Recent versions of Firefox are very very very slow, compared to older versions of Firefox. I suggest that Ghostery maintain support for all versions of Firefox that Ghostery was on before. (e.g. I had a previous version of Firefox with Ghostery on it, and then, I updated to the recent SlowFirefox, and when I changed back to the faster Firefox (smaller file), the recent versions of Ghostery were not supported in the AddOns of Firefox. Firefox has become a huge sluggish browser. I want Ghostery for older (faster) versions of Firefox.

1Ghostery's minimum requirements are only raised when absolutely necessary. You have the Brightcove/Disqus whiners to blame for new lower bound of Firefox 6.
My experience with Firefox contradicts yours. Somewhere around Firefox 7 or Firefox 9, it got noticeably faster than 3.6. (The UI is still decidedly inferior, which is why I stuck with 3.6.x until the bitter end.) Note that there's no longer security support for anything prior to Firefox 10 (and you need to be using the ESR, or a derivative, to even get that). Sorry, it's time to let go.
You're better off figuring out why you're experiencing a slowdown, and what can be done to correct this. That's a Mozilla problem, not a Ghostery issue.

Just to add to Eric's comment.
Ghostery 2.7 branch is available for users with Firefox 3.5 and up. We plan to continue support for all updatable lists for a while, but really, unless oyu have some outstanding issues, you should upgrade. -

Why?
In general, it's a really bad idea to use such old versions of Firefox.
Consider replacing it with Firefox ESR.
Install the SettingSanity and Click to Play per-element extensions, and you should have something that behaves like what you're used to (minus the security vulnerabilities!), but is compatible with the latest Ghostery.

Eric's point is entirely correct, that said, Ghostery for older versions of Firefox is available in the archive pages of AMO: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
