Ghostery stops Flash video from loading at NFL.com/videos
Ghostery stops Flash video from loading at NFL.com/videos. No biggie at the moment since the season may not even start. Using Mac OS X 10.6.7, Safari 5.0.5 and Ghostery 1.1.0.

1I tried this in Firefox.
Omniture needs to be unblocked for the video player to load.
Unfortunately, that only got me as far as a never-ending spinner:

I turned off blocking in Ghostery, which made no difference.
Then, I opened the page in Opera (with no extensions at all). It [mis]behaved exactly the same way. This is clearly not a Ghostery problem.
Doing a View Source and seeing comments like
//moved all the functions into s_code_common.js until we can overhaul this atrocity
doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
Their site's bad. They know their site's bad.

Nice find in the source. My workaround is turning off Ghostery or all extensions. Cheers for investigating.

1Hi Withnail,
You shouldn't need to turn off Ghostery completely, just Ghostery's blocking. Try opening Ghostery's findings popup on the page you want to exempt, clicking "Edit Blocking Options" and then clicking "Don't Block on ...". You can always view and manage this list in Ghostery's options under the Blocking category. -

Also, we are working on reducing the number of conflicts caused by blocking by adding "surrogate" scripts to Ghostery. Once ready, the surrogates will act to help the page behave as before, just without any functionality of the blocked and replaced script.

Blocking this site manually has done the trick. Thanks for a great product, very quick support and a damn cute ghost logo.
