Ghostery update window freezing IE

I am using Ghostery on IE.My problem is that on start up I get a message from Ghostery wanting to run updates,but when I click on this it tries to open a new window that freezes and brings up an "IE not working" message.Also my laptop then starts to continualy search for a solution,I have to leave IE and start again,clicking no to the Ghostery updates to get onto IE,but once on everything,including Ghostery works fine.
