Ghostery Ver 5+, Icon in the Statusbar & Seamonkey

So,

i recently upgraded Ghostery from 2.9.6 to Version 5.12.

As i noticed, the Option to Display the Ghostery Icon in the Statusbar has completly gone. I guess that isn't much of a suprise, since the upcoming Australis nonsense for Firefox will get rid of the AddOn-Bar anyway....

...but: is there a chance or a way for the little (and stubborn) group of Seamonkey Users to keep the Ghostery Icon in the Statusbar (where it belongs)?

And if not: how long can i keep Version 2.9.6 before it won't be supplied with DB-Updates anymore?

If Mozilla ships Australis with Firefox 29:

Some people won't upgrade — not even if critical security vulnerabilities are revealed.

Some people will abandon Firefox, and switch to another browser (most likely Google Chrome).

Some people will spend six weeks in the beta channel, in order to skip 29 entirely.

A whole bunch of people will try the Classic Theme Restorer extension.

The Extended Support Release will suddenly become overwhelmingly popular.

Ghostery 2.9.6 and 5.1.2 receive more-or-less the same database updates, with a major difference when it comes to surrogates. Note that 2.9.6 has to be manually patched to expand its limit on tracker blocking, and SeaMonkey users in particular probably should be using something newer than 5.1.2.

Hi Guy,

We don't have any plans to stop supporting 2.9.6. However, there is a limitation with the amount of trackers we can add. We are looking into how we can get around this issue.

First of all:

Thanks for the replys and if any Dev is reading this: thanks for this AddOn, you guys are doing a great job!

Anyway: I WANT to use the most recent version of Ghostery, but on the other hand, I'm REALLY missing the Status Bar Icon.

Back in the days, there wasn't a specific SeaMonkey version of Ghostery, i simply "forced" Seamonkey to use the FF Addon- and it worked.

My Question is: will the Status-Bar Icon (as in the screenshot attached) have any chances to survive in the Seamonkey Version of Ghostery?
