I’m frustrated

Ghostery won't disable

Edit Subject

When clicking 'Disable' from the add-ins window and restarting Firefox, Ghostery is not disabled, and instead starts normally. This is virus/malware type of activity and is not acceptable.

Sounds like a Firefox issue, not a problem with Ghostery itself. You might have corrupt extension files.

If this doesn't fix the problem (I'd put the odds at around 50%), post more details (platform, Firefox version, other add-ons you have installed, etc.).

As Eric pointed out, chances are this is an issue in your Firefox installation rather than Ghostery: an extension has no control over enabling or disabling itself if a user has set it to be disabled. That said, to debug further, please provide OS, Firefox version, Ghostery version, and a list of other addons installed in Firefox. Thanks.
