Google Analytics Opt-Out Tool

I installed the new Google Analytics Opt-out Add-On in Firefox, but Ghostery is still showing Google Analytics unblocked. Does this mean that Google's Add-on is not really opting me out of Google Analytics?

Hi Margot,

Thank you for using Ghostery!

Google Analytics and Ghostery don't use the same code to block tracking. Consequently, Ghostery can't recognize Google's opt out (which is cookie based) which is why it shows up as unblocked - meaning unblocked by Ghostery.
