please stop google keyword search taking urls for eg: we search "fruits" when we click on required link its gives a long query url and takes to the end website

Google is actually deleting the search keyword when redirecting to the click url (the q-parameter is empty), so the next page will not see your search query.

Removing the click url inside google is probably not in the scope of Ghostery since it is 1st party tracking and you would need an url parser/rewrite to remove that (which Ghostery doesn't have I think).

I wonder if there is a privacy extension that supports rewriting/parsing urls, I know Proxomitron can do that, but that is something quite different to Ghostery.

This comes up now and then and its even on our list of things to consider. That said, our first priority is to do what we already do and do it as well as possible.

Search protection is something that others do very well, there are good engines to switch to: duckduck and startpage, or even googles ssl search. There are extensions that try to proxy this stuff as well that may be of interest.

Not sure when this will get on our roadmap.
