When clicking on short urls like on.mash.to sometimes there is a 2nd short url service being called called trib.al. This definitely does some kind of user tracking since it sets an id cookie.
I wonder if it would be possible to address this in Ghostery in some way, however of course the url cannot be blocked since it is required to find the target url to redirect to.

There are several options here. For example, Ghostery could strip out the cookie from trib.al or block it outright. That said, I'll need to do some research to see if this is used anywhere for tracking.
