Hola Unblocker interaction with Ghostery

okies i have tried search and only one thing appears. (and it isnt any help as it is unrelated)
I have been running ghostery and ad block plus for weeks / months with no problem.
Today i have installed Hola Unblocker. It seems to work fine, but i simply can not get Ghostery's button back. Ghostery is there and working, but i cant get to the button at all (in order to temporarily unblock on a page for example)

any suggestions?

thanks in advance

  • Start by telling us what browser you're using (name and version), and which version of Ghostery you have.

  • Apologies.
Firefox 28.0 and the most recent version of ghostery.

I *may* have fixed it. After typing the question i then started browsing others issues to see if anything was similar.
I have now de-installed and re-installed Ghostery and the button now resides on my toolbar as before. But i dont know how permanent this is.

Maybe a note for records in case someone else does the same. Hola Unblocker appears to need to be installed *before* Ghostery.

Hope that makes sense, but any further thoughts would be appreciated.

    thanks
    • "Most recent version" may be an appropriate response when someone asks if you've installed all relevant security updates, but it's not meaningful here. Please select the menu item Help > Troubleshooting Information (or open about:support) and find the exact version number — that's what we need to know.

We also have no idea what you did. Did you try customize toolbar? Did you try the Add Button button on the last page of the Walkthrough? If it was still in a non-working state, we might be able to determine exactly what went wrong (and, hopefully, resolve this once and for all), but there's no evidence left for forensic analysis at this point. :-(
