how do you dismiss the "3pe updated" message
Every time it auto updates it shows the message, and I cannot get rid of it even if I click on it to see what the update added. ANNOYING.

1[Ghostery 2.7.1] Try opening a new tab, then closing the first one. If it's really annoying you, you can turn off Notify me of new elements in Ghostery's Advanced Options.

Also, this message will go away when clicked after the next Ghostery update.

The notifications re: "something new!" don't go away even after you go look at whatever it is.
This is very annoying. I would like to be able to shut off these "notifications" popups.

How do I make your update balloon go away. There's no close button, and it just sits there in the way. Is there a setting other than turning off auto-update?

I've gotten the same popup multiple times today using Firefox - something about what Ghostery is doing. When I click the link & read the explanation it doesn't stop the popup from returning later.

I don't see why this thread is marked "solved." Going through browser contortions or turning off auto-update is not "solving" the problem. This kind of balloon notification (or whatever the term should be) is not uncommon, but they always disappear after a short time, and it certainly should disappear if I bother to click the link. It seems to me Ghostery should be able to have it time out or, at least, put a 'close' button on it.

As a workaround now, before we fix the alert's behavior, you could reload the page to dismiss it.
You don't have to turn off tracker library autoupdate to turn off autoupdate notifications. These are separate preferences in Ghostery's Advanced Options tab.

Your 3pe library was updated! Click here to see the additions in the Ghostery options menu." Get this off my screen once I have looked at the update! It blocks my search box on yahoo mail and makes me hate Ghostery! I don't mind the searches but the little notification box has got to disappear like a ghost should!

All those notification windows that appear below ghostery icon at right top area in ff, they don't have any method of closing and they end up hiding information below them.
It updated itself and then gave a long notification to check what all is updated. I don't care what is updated as long as it is wise to update correctly and work for me, so I don't want to even see it, but the message doesn't go away.
Give the x to close these windows after reading them.
