I can't install Ghostery plug-in onto Firefox 16.0.1

I can't install Ghostery plug-in onto Firefox 16.0.1. A message says (in French): "Ghostery n'a pas pu être installé car Firefox ne peut pas modifier le fichier nécessaire", which would translate into "Ghostery could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the necessary file."
