Icon relocates after FireFox restart

I'm a new Ghostery (ver 5.1.0) user. I'm running FireFox 26.0 on Windows 7, 64-bit. I have the Ghostery icon on a custom toolbar.

Every time I restart FireFox the Ghostery icon (if there is a Space following it) relocates to the end (right) of the toolbar.

The problem occurs when no other Extensions are loaded. Icons for most other Extensions don't have this problem.

Thanks.

  • Correction: The Ghostery icon doesn't move to the end of the toolbar, rather it moves after the following Space.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for using Ghostery!

Can you attach a screenshot so I can see the before and after?

Do you use any custom desktop theme?

    Thanks!

  • Hello Pete.

I responded via email on 2/06. Perhaps you didn't get it?

I do not use any custom desktop theme, just the default.

I have attached 3 screen snapshots. The first is with my normal Firefox setup. Please note that there is not space on either side of the Ghostery icon. I am able to restart Firefox without anything changing.

The second snapshot shows that I have added a “Space” after the Ghostery icon. As long as I don’t restart Firefox, everything is fine.

The third snapshot show what happens after I restart Firefox. Please note that the Ghostery icon has moved from before, to after, the “Space”.

I did not include snapshots of this, but I also tried inserting multiple “Space” items, instead of just one. After restarting Firefox, the Ghostery icon has moved after all of the “Space” items.

    Thanks, John

  • A similar problem happen with my SeaMonkey and Firefox browsers. The same problem happens not just in one pc, but in 2. The Ghostery's (ver. 5.1.0) icon relocates after I restart my browsers!

Below there are a couple of screenshots (before it relocates and after):

    Thanks.

P.S. with the old Ghostery version 2.9.4 the above did not happen. Also I forgot to mention that my OS is windows 7 and that I use a custom desktop theme.
