IE8 Ghostery Issues

I tried ghostery with ie8 and it significantly slowed down ie8 to the point of rendering it nearly inoperable. I use mozilla firefox as my main web browser but some sites are onlly compatible with ie. nevertheless I had to uninstall ghostery because it made using ie insufferable.
