In SeaMonkey (latest) the Ghostery icon periodically disappears and appears again.
Also there are no icon in panel's customization buttons list.

SeaMonkey is still being worked on and its pretty hostile to the addon-sdk at this point. That said, what you are experiencing is most likely due to another addon. If you give me a list of the active addons I may be able to tell you which one is causing it.
Also, Ghostery 5.2 is currently in beta channel and has an upgraded seamonkey addon sdk that may also help.Comment -

Currently I have SeaMonkey v2.24 and following addons:
1) Adblock Plus 2.5.1
2) DOM Inspector 2.0.15pre
3) FB2 Reader 0.24
4) JavaScript Deobfuscator 1.6.4
5) NoScript 2.6.8.18rc1
6) Organize Status Bar 0.6.5
7) Session Manager 0.8.1.0
8) Speed Dial 0.9.6.16
I tried to disable all (except of NoScript), and the things stays the same.
There is a strange bahaviour. When you open a new window, there are no icon.
But if you switch to a window with icon and back to new window, then icon appears.- view 2 more comments

Igor, could you try the 5.2beta from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire... and tell me if its exhibiting the same results?

It seems, it works. Both icon and Tools -> Ghostery menu.

(By the way, Download button on the specified page gray and doesn't work. Probably it wants Firefox. So I have to find the download link in page source to install beta version.) -
