Good morning everybody,
why is it not possible to import my backup file? Since a reset of my firefox, Ghostery always "restarts" somehow, whenever I restart Firefox. And all of my settings are gone. That's why I saved a backup file without changing its name. But unfortunately, I can't import it.
Ghostery always says: invalid file!
I hope, you can help me.
Best regards

Hi TripleD,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Sorry for the issue. I see it. I'll add a ticket.
Thanks for reporting! -

Hey Pete,
thank you for your fast reply. And no problem. It doesn't happen all the time. Just sometimes. So far, I couldn't figure out, why this problem occurs. Really strange.
Adding a ticket means? -

Its funny you should say that.. I saw it.. Tried to check and see if 5.4 had the same issue. Couldn't replicate and now I can't replicate it in the current. Very strange.. But something is going on.
A ticket means, I have a ticket in for our dev team to review and see if there is a bug. -

I am using your great Add-On for a long time, but this problem just startetd very recently. I would say with FF version 32 or 33 and your version 5.4 or so....I also observed problems with the flash player, which slows down my system extremely, even with a deactivated plugin container.
I hope, your team can fixit. I am excited to hear about a solution. I'll keep you updated with any other problem.
Thanks in advance.- view 2 more comments

Good morning everybody,
I will gove you an update on my issue. Yesterday, I reinstalled ghostery and also removed the environment variable "MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS" with the value 1, which I introduced to dwactivate the pugin container of FF.
After this, I restarted FF several times and also my PC, but everything was fine. The next day, I started my PC, but unfortunately the same problem occured again:
Ghostery started with its tutorial and FF didn't load my pinned tabs!
In addition: on some pages, I could also obersve this strange phenomenon...
It's so mysterious...

Any chance you can send me the backup file that doesn't work? pete@ghostery.com

Any news? After a complete Reinstall of FF the problem doesn't appear as often as in the past, but it still happens sometimes, whereas the "Invalid Backup" problem was solved. This works now properly.
