Is there a way to permanently allow pop-ups?

Is there a way to permanently allow pop-ups? (Not the ghostery pop-up but windows that web pages pop up. When ghostery is enabled and a web page tries to pop up a window, Firefox hangs and must be closed.)

FYI: When I tried to login with Facebook just now to post this problem, ghostery crashed my Firefox.

  • Please tell us which version of Firefox you have, which version of Ghostery you're using, and list the other browser extensions you have enabled (name and version). You can find the latter by selecting Help > Troubleshooting Information (or opening about:support), and scrolling down to the Extensions section. (Omit any rows with false in the enabled column; they aren't relevant.)

Pop-up blocking is built in to Firefox itself, and operates independently of any extensions. There is practically no circumstance where disabling pop-up blocking is necessary or appropriate; with exceedingly few exceptions, only bad things will happen to you if you do. (But I guess some people don't fully understand what "the top of the stove is hot" means until they touch it. Hopefully, they learn their lesson the first time, and without permanent damage.)

  • Whoever made the following remark in his reply to me is an arrogant asshole:

"But I guess some people don't fully understand what "the top of the stove is hot" means until they touch it. Hopefully, they learn their lesson the first time, and without permanent damage."

For your information, asshole, I use Firefox to disable pop-ups and have no need for your piece-of-shit ghostery to interfere in any way with my browser's pop-up blocking functionality.

With ghostery -- which provides no capability to disable pop-up blocking by ghostery -- enabled, clicking on a link that pops up a window locks up Firefox. The workaround is to restart Firefox, "Pause" ghostery, and proceed without ghostery locking up my browser when clicking the link in question.

Please keep your rude, arrogant, ignorant, asshole remarks to yourself; and while you're at it, learn how to read. My problem with your ghostery is due to your lousy software design. Don't you ever try to make your ineptitude my problem again.

  • As I said, you do not know how to read; and your problem is self-inflicted. There is a possibility, albeit remote, that you will become aware of your arrogant, obnoxious attitude sometime in the future, but I wouldn't count on it as long as you manage to bring in a paycheck insulting people who turn to a company that pays you to support their products. I have looked at your profile, and the replies you have sent to other users encountering problems with ghostery are appallingly rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful, as is your exchange with me. Good day, asshole. I hope you have a miserable day and are run over by a truck.
