Ghostery for IE blocks few if any ads. Its more pain than its worth.
I need help with this. I go to ESPN, and all I get is ads, why won't Ghostery block Adchoice, and Doubleclick. I thought it was supposed to stop ADS. I turn on blocking and it seems to do nothing, and yet I check EVERY ad source.

1This is ESPN's home page:

Ghostery doesn't find ads because there aren't any — just analytics and trackers.
To answer your question, we need to know exactly what you're looking at. Please provide an example URL, and tell us:
• Which browser you're using (name and version)
• Which version of Ghostery you have

Mine had all ads on it before I uninstalled Ghostery.
I have IE9 on Windows 7, will get a screen shot if you tell me how.
I got Ghostery on command bar, not status bar. It was the latest version from the website last night -

IE 9, on windows 7. Not sure how to get a screen capture.
Ghostery shows up on command bar, not status bar.
And it doesn't stop analytics or trackers. It looks just like it did BEFORE Ghostery.
And ghostery slows down the pages. after I block ALL items in options -

Fred,
The old version of Ghostery for IE, which you use now, is buggy. You could try the new Ghostery for IE, however. To try it:
1. Uninstall current Ghostery for IE from your system.
2. Download executable installer from here: http://crossrider.com/download/ie/20900
3. Install.
4. Wait a few seconds for IE to open and load the Ghostery walkthrough (please be patient, this might take up to 20 seconds - just this time).
5. You will need to restart your IE after finishing the Ghostery walkthrough. -

Please, follow this link to download if having Norton issues.
UPDATE: We are experiencing issues with Norton and Ghostery for IE (beta v3.0.0). We will update this thread when a solution is reached. -

The website is blocked by Norton. I have version 2.4 of the plug-in.
Why would your direct me to a site that is not the original Ghostery site?
Can you make a zip file available on Ghostery?- view 1 more comment

nice try, but now I get adware crossid Malware block.
I'm really starting to question this product. -

seems to finally have installed and maybe its because I use a tracking protection list that blocks most cookies.
I do enjoy the new interface. -
