I've used Ghostery for years and am a loyal fan.

I've used over many years on Apple OS X (10.5->10.9.1) and it certainly reduces the clutter of cookies I don't want such as Google. What I do is none of their business. I use it for Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera and works just as well with each browser. I would recommend that everybody use it.
