i've read about the problems with ghostery 2.1 and javascript.
i'm having a similar problem with ghostery 2.2 in that it disables a javascript-based download link for logitech mouse driver software at 'http://www.logitech.com/en-us/428/143.... if i whitelist logitech.com, the download link works.
i've tried all the suggested 2.1 solutions but none of them work.

Unfortunately, there are many sites that integrate too close to the 3rd party services that Ghostery detects and blocks. On the logitech site, this service is WebTrends -- its identified, and when blocked, it will break some of the site functionality since they are using WebTrends API calls in the site calls, such as Download Software button.
Since you were able to download the software, you are aware of the options Ghostery gives you. Other then whitelisting, you could unblock WebTrends temporary or turn blocking off for the download.
