No ghost, using IE--panel disappears right away!

I just recently downloaded for IE--I get the panel in the upper right side of the page I'm on (ex. Quantcast)--but it disappears when I click on it, or not. I have never seen the fabled blue ghost. And I can't get any info on what's in the panels. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that doesn't work, either. It would be nice if I could access the info I need about these tracking programs that Ghostery is supposed to tell me about...if I could get everything to work, I'd really appreciate what this program has to offer. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!
