The images for the buttons are custom so no calls are required to go to the facebook/pinterest/etc servers to get the images for them. They do make calls to those servers to get the 'like' counts, which we are blocking. If you pause blocking you can see that counts appear next to all of the social buttons.

I'm not sure why Google+ has a number next to it, since no calls to Google+ servers are made that I can see. It might be included in the page when it is loaded.

We should definitely look at adding ChangeTip, the last widget, to our database. I added a ticket for that.
