Ok here goes,,, I have a QUESTION and Praise Ghostery also ;> My question is this, When I click on to the ghost and view whos tracking me, how do I no if its an individual (ex, insecure boyfriend)? Is there a way to figure it out? I'm still new to this. I appreciate any feedback you folks could offer.

It makes me wonder why any mature, secure person would do such a thing......... Still can't figure it out? \
Perhaps you should be tracking him,,,,, sounds shady -

Hi sierrababe, thanks for using Ghostery.
Ghostery matches an internal list of companies that are known or capable of recording analytics about you such as search results, geo-location, browser information and many other items. The list consists of companies only and is not personal =) -

LOL, if that individual has a particular target, it's easier to plant a logger rather than to set up a tracking website & somehow lure in the target, discarding insignificant visitors
i've just read that ff stores history & bookmark in PROFILE/places.sqlite (i imagine it's not so diff with other browsers), so if what that sierrababe-lover wants is only your web history, a rough way is to have a script in background back up the file everytime its size increases
BTW, while reading Felix reply, i can't help recalling that a company/corporation is a legal person in the eyes of most company/corporate laws, having most legal rights & conceptually immortality. a nice quote from a documentary: "corporations have no soul to save, no body to incarcerate"
cheers :) -
