I use the current Firefox 31. Usually when I open a new tab it appears to the right of the current one. When I want to see what trackers are blocked or not, I click on Ghostery's options, and the new tab opens to the left. This is just slightly annoying because I am accustomed to closing tabs to the right of the current one, not the left.
Can this be changed or set up as an option? Thanks.

Hey DC,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
You can right click in the navigation bar and drag the icon to the left side of the bar and that will allow the panel to always open on the left side of the window.
If its the alert bubble, then in the advanced tab of the options menu you can move the alert to any corner of the screen.
Hope one of those help! -

The Ghostery Icon is already located to the left of the awesome bar, along with various other icons - Home, New Window, etc. I tried moving the Ghostery icon to the right of the awesome bar, but with the same results, i.e. the Ghostery tab opens to the left of the current tab.

I recently added this feature to Ghostery where if you open the options page or any new tab from Ghostery, it will return to the tab you were looking at before. I think it was in the last release and it was different based on the browser.
In Chrome, you can tell a new tab which tab opened it, so it goes back when you close it. This also happens to open it to the right of the tab. Opera is the same.
In Safari and Firefox extensions, however, you can't tell a new tab what the parent is from what i can tell. So the next option is to open it next to the current tab, so that when it closes, it goes back to the original tab. For some reason you need to open it to the left in both of these browsers to get it to go back to the right place.
I know this isn't how it works with normal links in those browsers, but it was the only way I could find to get the proper closing behavior. I think that part working takes priority over the physical position of the tab.
Just to confirm, when you close the options page it takes you back to the correct tab, right? -

What other extensions do you have enabled? (Select Help > Troubleshooting Information or open about:support)

Yes, closing the the options page does take me back to the correct tab. At this point I think the issue has been resolved in a reasonable manner.
Thanks to all. -
