page loading slowdown on Chromebook after installing Ghostery

Ever since I installed Ghostery on my Chromebook, it's as if molasses had been poured into it, especially on my TDAmeritrade, where slow speed can really be a problem that could cost a lot of money. And this was before I'd even set any blockers. Do I have to uninstall it or is there a way to fix this? My desktop computer isn't having this problem.
