Problems with Ghostery, GMX and the Firefox-Update 15.0.1
Hi there, i have a problem with Ghostery. Since a few weeks gmx is very slow ans since the last Firefox Update today i can't read my gmx e-mails. i checked every add-on I use and just with an inactive Ghostery gmx runs normal – its much faster and I can read my e-mails. Where is the problem between Ghostery, the new firefox-Update and gmx? Thank you for your support.

Hi Joe, thanks for using Ghostery.
Have you tried whitelisting gmx? If so, did it help? Also, try toggling performance options and click-to-play to see which particular thign makes it slow/unusable? -

Hi Felix,
thanks for your answer.
whitelisting gmx helps. I can read my e-mails but it stlil runs slower. Not that much as before but it does.
It seems Ghostery itself makes gmx runs slower.
I also toggling every single find on the gmx inbox, but none of them seems to be the reason to make it unusable.
Best regards

Hi Joe,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
I just signed up for a GMX web address and not seeing any problems with it. I have full blocking enabled in Ghostery for firefox. Only difference between blocking on and off is there are no ads displayed on the right side of the page.. which is what Ghostery is blocking on purpose. Do you have any other add-ons installed? -

Hi Pete,
thanks for your answer.
I've deactivated Ghostery now. Even if gmx is whitelisted the site is that slow!
If Ghostery is deactivated gmx runs fast and without any problems.
Yes, i habe two other add-ons. Of course i switch every single add-on off, to find the problem and no other add-on bugs the functionality of gmx. It must be Ghostery because it is the only one, there is a difference between active and deactive status.
Its too bad, because i appreciate using Ghostery for a long time.
Best
