Quick & transparent Bubbles

I give high marks for your software. It's like getting a chance to 'opt out' of privacy-robbing, but I notice how annoyed I get at your bubble. I use Growl and am never annoyed. Why don't you? Or, have a preference setting allowing degree of transparency and bubble duration.
