rebelmouse.com uses a tracker run by them called frontpage-stats.rb.ms (which is probably 1st party), however one of the applications of the page is to embed it in other pages to show an overview of different posts, which would make this 3rd party tracking I guess.

I wonder if this could be included in Ghostery?

Damn, this is an annoying implementation. Lemme think about this for a while. Replacing this type of content could potentially annoy users regardless of intentions, kinda like blocking YouTube, c2p or not...

I was thinking this as well, when I block rebelmouse completely with requestpolicy the page mtv page is empty except for the logo header. I was thinking if it would be posssible to identitfy and block the statistics for rebelmouse individually.
