Repeated Yahoo Mail log-in needed with Firefox.
Thanks to your information, I was able to allow Yahoo Analytics so I could send, reply to, and forward Yahoo email. I still have to sign in twice, even when my name appears as being logged in on my Yahoo home page and when I use a sign-in seal, which it doesn't always retain. Is this due to another Yahoo issue? By the way, I usually use Firefox and when I reset it in an attempt to solve my problems with Yahoo, it dumped Ghostery (which I reinstalled). Internet Explorer doesn't have Ghostery, so I guess I need to install it there separately. I've had no problems with Yahoo in IE.

Hi Carol,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
We rolled out an update a few days ago that should have fixed your Yahoo! mail issues so you can log in, compose mail and send with full blocking enabled. If you haven't all ready, please go into your options menu and update your blocking library.. Save and reload your browser.. you should be good to go!
Let me know if this is does not work :-) -

Thank you for your reply. I did update my blocking library. I can manage email fine, but still have to log in twice, with the sign-in seal missing, at times. If I stay logged in and go to another website and return, I have to log in (twice) again, even though my name appears at the top of yahoo.com, my homepage. I'd like to fix that. Also, do I need to install Ghostery separately in IE? I use it in Firefox now and it doesn't seem to carry over.

I don't have that issue that you are describing with the double log in.. do you have other add-ons installed?
Every browser that we support requires a separate download of Ghostery. So you will need to go to Ghostery.com/download and click on the IE extension > Version 3.0. -

I downloaded Ghostery to IE and it seems to be fine. I do have other add-ons: Adobe Acrobat, Coupon Network, iTunes, Java toolkit, Java Platform (disabled), MS Windows Media Player (& Media Services), Motive, Quick Time (won't allow me to update from 7.6.5 to 7.7.3), Shockwave Flash, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Presentation for Mozilla, and Silverlight (disabled).

Off-topic, but we generally recommend updating plugins for security reasons. If you're having trouble with QuickTime, you might want to start by scanning for malware (which might have corrupted something). If Apple's updater isn't working, you may have to uninstall QuickTime, and reinstall the latest version.
It is critically important to update any Adobe products you're using (e.g. Acrobat, Flash, Reader, Shockwave).
If you have any version of Oracle Java 7 prior to7u117u13 (or Java 6 prior to6u386u39) you need to update it ASAP.

I scanned for malware and there is none. Adobe and Java are up to date. I'm unable to update or uninstall QuickTime! Do you think it's related to the double log in problem I'm having with Yahoo mail in Firefox? Thank you so much for helping me with this. I'm at a loss.

It's probably not related (unless you're looking at hardware failure and/or filesystem corruption, but those would presumably affect a lot more than the things you mentioned). Most likely, something is interfering with Yahoo's cookies.
