I would like to completely replace Adblock Plus or Adblock Edge with Ghostery. I find Adblock Plus really slows down browsing and consumes a significant amount of memory.
What is needed from Ghostery to allow this to happen is to give the user the power to block additional sites.
For example, I prefer to block all badges from other sites, which can easily be used as trackers (e.g. digicert, geotrust, godaddy, etc.). I have no way to know if these are used as trackers, and don't trust the companies that provide those badges, so I prefer to have them blocked.

You shouldn't be adding these trackers privately. They belong in Ghostery's database, for everyone. [Bugs Version 303]

I like AdBlock too. The drop down menu makes it easy to block ads one at a time as you land on the page and gives a security report on the site you are visiting. . Ghostery's drop down menu gives you the actual tracker name at a glance. I currently use both in Chrome.
Good compare and contrast. I am learning a lot about trackers and add blockers by watching the correspondence bouncing back and fourth between users and service provider....
Thanks Ghostery team.... -
