Hello . . did some updating of Safari to 5.1 and when I loaded it again, I was prompted by Ghostery to set up everything all over again. So I did . .but could no longer load my iGoogle home page as the Ghostery settings blocked "Goggle Widgets". I found this AFTER a lot of futzing around! :-(
Suggest that a fix be implemented so that a user does not have to set up Ghostery all over again due to doing a browser update . .in my case a Safari update.

Hi Mark,
We are working on a fix for the next version of Ghostery.
In the meantime, do you clear browser data regularly either yourself, or through a program/extension? Ghostery currently stores its settings in Local Storage, so if browser data gets reset regularly, Ghostery forgets all your preferences. -

Hi Alexei . . . yes, I use Onyx . . .Clean My Mac and Purity.app http://purityapp.com/ at least once per month! How do you suggest I proceed in the future?
Thanks! -

The next version of Ghostery for Safari will store its settings differently, which should resolve most conflicts of this sort. It's coming soon, so you probably don't have to do anything differently (other than make sure to enable auto-update for extensions in Safari Preferences under the Extensions tab).
Sorry for the trouble! -

Any idea when the next version will be released?
I use onyx routinely so ghostery has been removed temporarily pending next update. -

K Ryan, Mark, Ghostery 1.2.0 is awaiting Apple's approval. Which means soon!
I'll update these threads once the new version is official. -
