In the above picture, 5 correspond to the blocked tracker on pcWorld, but not the trackers blocked on live365 (not scanned) nor twitter (0).
Set the number to the associated tab, not the current active one in opera.
If you use multiple tab (ie 2 tab set side by side, in order to see both in one window in Opera) the number put on the extension icon is the one from the active tab, not the one associated.

This is an Opera limitation, unfortunately. It seems that there is only a single badge per extension, shared between all open browser windows.Comment -
