Please select Help > Troubleshooting Information (or open about:support) and tell us exactly which version of Firefox and Ghostery you have.
It's exceedingly unlikely rebooting really is a factor unless you have certain third-party software installed. Does the issue occur if you Quit Firefox and relaunch it? What happens if you Log Out and log back in (but don't reboot)? -

Problem does not happen after closing firefox and relaunching or session log out and log back in. only after reboot.- view 3 more comments

Just tried reboot with Self-destructing cookies disabled with same results.

can you try creating a new Firefox profile to see if that solves it?

Today my Firefox 33.1 crashed. After restarting the browser the welcome wizard of Ghostery started again and all my tuned settings were lost.
But open browser tabs were completely restored as if nothing happened.
I had no reboot problems so far...
Ghostery Version: 5.4.1
Windows 7-
We are investigating this. I suggest creating an export file of your settings from the advanced tab. We hope to have a solution soon.
VERY sorry for the inconvenience. -

You need to take a look at this:
If confirmed, this would explain pretty much all of the complaints about blocked items being forgotten and the walkthrough unexpectedly reappearing. The bad news is: it's not a defect in Ghostery itself, and therefore not something we can fix.
While this isn't a new issue (similar reports go back three years), it's very likely a recent change to Firefox makes this particular failure occur far more often. -
