Please shorten the display "Blocked: 3 of 3" to e.g. just "3/3" (configurable).
The full sentence takes a lot of valuable space.

Thank you for the feedback Daniel. We're working on making this a feature with our next releases.

Great to hear this will be implemented.
Though technically more difficult to achieve one could envision a green ghostery icon with the number of services blocked (akin the count bubble with some mail and message services) and red ghostery icon with the number of services not blocked. -

I’m
trying to understand the motivation here
To the people requesting this:
- Are you using Ghostery on a Netbook?
- Do you have other Add-ons installed that consume space on the Status Bar?
- Is Ghostery's current behavior causing actual inconvenience, or is this primarily an aesthetic concern?
-
-
I'd say a mix of size and aesthetics. No inconvenience, really.
My personal situation is indeed that I primarily use a netbook (out of size convenience, even though I have half a dozen systems) and have half a dozen add-ons installed like FireShot, ForeCastfox, Gmail manager.
On the netbook it gets a bit cramped, as I'm sure you understand, while it doesn't matter space wise on a 20 or 24" screen.
Certainly wouldn't be opposed if the Ghostery icon had the option to reside elsewhere, like some in the menu bar or in the icon bar. Aesthetically speaking. -

So far I really like the add-on, although I have a feature-request regarding the status bar display/ghost-counter thingie.
As of right now, it shows "Blocked: x of y", which is too clunky for me, as I prefer my status bar as small as possible. I'd rather have something like "x/y" and without the underscore. This would provide the same information without additional characters filling up the space.

Shorter status bar display. -

2Hi all, while we do not have customization of this message as a Ghostery feature in the near future, below I explain how to edit this message with just a text editor.
1) Locate ghostery installation folder: generally its in the profile directory. To find it you may use this: open Firefox and type about:support info the address. In the window that you will get, simply click "Open Containing Folder"
2) In the profile folder, navigate to extensions/firefox@ghostery.com/chrome/locale. At this point, pick the locale you are working with (if your Firefox is in english, pick en-US).
3) Finally, open ghostery.properties in a text editor of your choice. In this file you will see many entries that start with statusbar.xxxxxx. These are the entries you need to change to shorten/lengthen/edit the status bar message. Go nuts! =)
4) Restart Firefox for the new setting to take effect -

Went from "we're working on it" to "we're not"?
I s'pose I can tweak it myself. -

Hah I just submitted this idea. Didn't know it existed here for almost a year! :D
