Hi Fenrir, thanks for using Ghostery.

The choice is yours. Blocking everything and then unblocking the services that you use is the easiest way to configure Ghostery. The opposite is true as well -- you may browse with Ghostery not blocking anything, reading up on the services you Ghostery detects, and then choosing to block or not to block once you know who they are.
