Slows down my system to less than a crawl

I'm not sure how this works really. I see nothing to indicate it is even istalled let alone something to click on to view anything. However, It has succeeded in slowing my system to a crawl. Actually, if it were to crawl it wuold have to speed up a bid. What is the problem. does it reqire so much resources that it bogs down the system? Not good!!!

    » Which version of Ghostery you have installed

    » What other add-ons or extensions you have enabled

    » What operating system you're using (name and version)

    » What kind of CPU you have and its speed rating (if available)

    » How much RAM you have

    Does the problem occur "all the time," or only with specific sites? If the latter, give some examples.

    Do you normally have a lot of tabs open?

    Have you tried clearing your browser's cache?

    Have you experienced a similar problem previously (before you installed Ghostery)?
