Social buttons playing hide-and-seek on Dictionary.com

( https://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery/... , 4)
When you check up a word in this dictionary (say, http://dictionary.reference.com/brows... ), the buttons for Facebook Social Plugins and Google +1 show up in spite of not being whitelisted:
Only after you hover the pointer over them, without clicking, they get detected and removed by Ghostery:
I'm not sure if it's relevant: in this case, AdBlock+ (all four default lists loaded) behaves exactly the same way.

    Hi Peadar,

    Thanks for reaching out.

This may be due to the way they are implemented on the page.

I'll send this over for review.

  • The images you see are first party, and they're just placeholders. This site has implemented its own version of Click-to-Play (except it's activated by mouseover rather than click). This enhances privacy, decreases page loading time, and minimizes network usage for everyone — regardless of which browser they're using, or what addons or extensions they have installed (great for public libraries, corporate environments, etc. where users may not have a choice). Kudos!

Ghostery handles attempts to load the "real" tracking elements as it normally would; whether or not they're blocked is entirely up to you.
