Why do you occassionally reset the options on update (IE8)? How do I lock the few options I have chosen to block. I don't seem to have an "advanced" option or other things that are mentioned in this forum. Am I using a lite version or are these browser specific?
BTW it's a great little package.

Hi Les,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
This was a bug in the older version for IE. Are you using the newer version and still seeing this issue? -

Hi, Pete,
I downloaded IE8 a few months ago from Microsoft's site. I note it is
"Version: 8.0.6001.18702
Update versions: 0"
Whether or not it is a "newer" version I could not say. Shall I seek an update?
L.-
sorry.. I meant the version of Ghostery.

Hi Pete,
Seems I loaded V2.4.2.0 (dated 20 April 2011) on 21 October 2012.
Looks like the latest is 18 january 2013.
Have downloaded the file and saved. I'll try a new install.
L.-
sounds good.. make sure you uninstall the old version before you install the new.

Right,
I've uninstalled the old version and installed v 3.0.0!
First thing I noticed is that the icon is now on the address bar and the drop down menu is rather different. Also it runs slightly slower and is only active on an active web page. It seems to work but will take a little bit of getting used to.
I did all this as an administrator. However, Ghostery does not show an icon on the limited a/c I normally use when accessing the internet (it's a security thing). Nor does the icon appear to be hidden though Ghostery is listed "enabled" amongst "toolbars and extensions".
Runnng as administrator on line, except in exceptional circumstances, is not acceptable.
I seem to be losing out here and am starting to wonder if this was a worthwhile exercise.
