I just want to say thank you. The explanation provided with the new update really helps. I actually forgot I was using Ghostery (I knew it was one of my Chrome protective extensions) Of course I do notice the information that loads up in the bottom right of my screen while browsing. Oh yes! It's Ghostery to the rescue! Now I recall!

The first time I looked at my web site stats back around 2007, I was shocked at the information that my web hosting firm provided about each visitor. I don't want to know folks information, emails, browsers, IP addresses etc. I haven't looked at my stats since. I didn't think it was okay. Everyone is talking about the NSA tracking and metadata collection. Why is NO ONE in the media, or elsewhere, screaming about the information that both large and small businesses are collecting and selling. Intuit (now Homestead) did this without me knowing what they are collecting (it's a "service" to help my very small business). I don't worry about the NSA or FBI tracking me. I'm not a terrorist etc. I am far more concerned and upset about large and small businesses have been collecting my data and selling it for direct marketing, and who knows what else. Anyone anywhere, that has a web site, gets this information on each and every person who simply clicks on their websites.This should outrage the public enmass. I think this should be one of the biggest issues of our time. I want protection from every Tom, Dick, Harry and hidden owners websites. I want this information collection to stop.
All I can say, is unless there is a public outcry this will continue. Until that day, I will continue to appreciate Ghostery''s protections working quietly like a rarely seen Ghost. I also appreciate the information provided on your site.
