FIRST Congratulations on hitting a thousand 3pes and 500 cooks! -- WHEW! let me wipe my brow with you. Not this month but next month you'll get my annual payment - I was going to double it when you hit a thousand but now it's going for (or just into) the garden. that grandpa and great grandpa had lovingly cared for mu g-g-gradpa and his family, and I let the blackberries take over when I got it, and pay for my sin? Yes indeedy. Pulling blackberries with roots as large as my fist!! ANYway I know you are probably working on this -- but there's BIG money in cookies and I'd LOVE to let RadioLab, Prairie Home, Med Sans, AFSC, you guys, and a VERY select VERY few others through so they make that fractional part of a hundredth of a cent -- and still keep other sites which do icky things with my personal data - like clog up my mail box.
There must be a way to let one site track me, and disallow others - the older I get the more paranoid I become and the less tolerant I become of others. I have a very good friend who hangs up if he hears words like Nifty Calaburger and my fantasy of treckin Euclid Ingins on that largest open pit mine in the world tha't going to be built in Alaska. The owners talk about carting for the mine waste 'in perpetuity' as if it was a given that the Romans are sill maintaining their aqueducts and the Mayan their canal systems and the Druids their roads,
So I do fear my government -- but believe that parts MIGHT be OK like National Pinko Radio - so they can get paid, but when I visit Donkey Loggers they don't get to track me, Am I making sense? Just came in from my second four hour sint working my garden and using an OLD DeKalb (Illinois) milk truck as a field lab where it's only about 135 when the VDC generator gives out and the swamp cooler will, every few hours belch as the metal buckles and the water must go somewhere, and there's a high pitched whistle sound which MUST have something to do with plastic and copper tubing letting rip a boiling gas bubble of some kind or another - and the truck which was once dark and cool like a cave, sits in the sun like a common torture box.
So with a blank mind and stinging eyes I thought I should say thank you and see if you are thinking about allowing selected places to track me, and not allowing places like the NSA from tracking me even a little. So thanks - for all the good you are doing.
And remember I was having trouble with auto-update and not being able to clear my white list? (yeah I thought not) I just dumped Firefox and cleaned up after myself very nicely -- nice enough that my mother would have even been proud -- and then reloaded and suddenly a LOT of stuff stared working again. So the problem was NEVER Ghostery, it was some corrupt file in FF that would always 'restore' what ever I was doing in the PREVIOUS session. It was SO much fun.
thanks for a great project and now I think I MUST take a shower or die. And bet that I can heat up the cold water enough with my body heat that I don't need to touch the hot water -- not even once! - sp. jamls== and my glasses are fogging up - so thanks and think about 'selective following' - so I can give money to NPR but not say - Yahoo!

or quit workin like mad dogs and English men in the hot noon day sun. . . . . though if you understood you'd know. It's Ok, "ignorance is no excuse" touted the Supremes when the federal laws were NINE and a wealthy American Shipper said there were SO many he couldn't keep track of them all . . . .

Hi doc,
> There must be a way to let one site track me, and disallow others.
You can tell Ghostery to stop blocking on a particular website by clicking on Ghostery's button, selecting "Whitelist domain" in the menu and reloading to have that take effect.
To see all exempt/whitelisted sites, visit Ghostery's options page and click on the whitelisted sites tab in the blocking section on the bottom. -

I’m
happy I'm learning and getting cobwebs cleanded out of my brain if i'm lucky and they don't have to use high explosves to get the corners clean yet . . .
DOESN'T that allow that same cookie to load from other sites as well - as long as they use it? e.g. If I white list you, i have to let - "New Relic" through, now if I go to ScreamingBaboonsOnDrones.mil.gov they can use that one if they already have it ready to ask since they use that one along with BlackBerdsRSatanicifyouaskme.NAVYROCKS.DOD. . . . . . My understaning is once a cookie is allowed in for a session, then it's in for the ENTIE session. . .. -

Whitelisting a site exempts that particular site from blocking. It does not change the way Ghostery treats the whitelisted site's trackers on other sites.
In other words, if you block a tracker, you block that tracker on all sites, except for sites where blocking has been disabled.
So if you told Ghostery to whitelist or exempt NPR.org (for example), nothing there would get blocked, but the same trackers would get blocked elsewhere.
When you unblock (stop blocking) a tracker, you unblock it everywhere.
What we don't have yet and are still working on is a way to unblock a particular tracker on some sites, but not others: https://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery/... -
