Collusion indicates the following sites in gray circles (when I visit wsj.com)
moatads.com
llnwd.net
twimg.com
Google searches indicate these are indeed tracking sites. However, Ghostery does not indicate they are being blocked. Can I add them myself? Can you add them to your blacklist?

Tracking sites that might not be blocked: moatads.com, llnwd.net, twing.com?

CHAMP
1llnwd.net is not a tracking site. Like Akamai and Amazon Web Services, it's used by many customers, for all sorts of purposes, most of which you wouldn't want to block.
Part of twimg.com is already in the database as Twitter Badge. The definition may need to be expanded (further investigation is needed).
I've encountered moatads.com before, but there didn't seem to be many sites using it. It's picked up a bit in the past few months, but it still appears to be quite rare. Let me get back to you on this.

OK - llnwd.net is LimeLightNetworks, a legit CDN - I did not dig deep enough. Thank you for your quick response.

I'm going to stick by my assertion that moatads.com is rare, despite it being used on www.forbes.com (one of the most popular sites on the web), and turning up on www.edmunds.com (which is no slouch, either).
So, you have a couple of immediate options. The easiest is to use your browser's native ability to block images from v3.moatads.com. The scripts will still load, but they won't report back to the mothership.
If you're using Ghostery for Firefox, you could install a private definition as explained here: https://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery/...
[{"type":"analytics","aid":"10001","cid":"10001","pattern":"\\.moatads\\.com\\/","name":"moatads mousetrap","id":"10001","affiliation":""}]
Let us know if it catches anything.

Heh. I just ran into it on Engadget, but v3.moatads.com was blocked by Advertising.com.
