Periodically, I find Ghostery has reintroduced itself into my Firefox toolbar. I right-click on the toolbar, edit, drag the button back out, and my toolbar is back the way I want it. Until Ghostery puts itself back yet again. Frustration!
I think this happens when Ghostery updates to a new version. I'd expect it not to rejigger my toolbar after the initial installation, so updated versions should not readd the toolbar button.
System info: I just saw this a moment ago while using Aurora 15.0a2 (2012-07-16) under:
ProductName: Mac OS X
ProductVersion: 10.7.4
BuildVersion: 11E53
The Ghostery version reported in about:addons is 2.8.0.1.

4Open Ghostery's Options and click on the Advanced tab.
What is your current setting for Show Ghostery button in Navigation Bar?
If it's checked, you're telling Ghostery to restore an accidentally removed toolbar button. (There were far more complaints from people who "lost" their Ghosty and "couldn't get it back.")
If you don't want it there, uncheck the option that says otherwise.

Hi all, thanks for reporting this issue.
This appears to be an upgrade bug/artifact that executes every time there is a new version of Ghostery installed. I'll add a part that executes this only on a first install instead of upgrade. Thanks!

Ah, so it's a right-hand/left-hand problem, where I have to get the browser and the addon on the same page. I will assume that unchecking that option fixed it, since I only see the issue sporadically.

Upon an update of the addon, Ghostery doesn't keep the configuration of not displaying a button in the navigation bar. Not only the button makes its way back to the navigation bar, which isn't necessary to me since it's already configured through the addon itself to show up in the addon bar, but because I use "Mozilla Labs: Prospector - AwesomeBar HD" and "Mozilla Labs: Prospector - OneLiner", it messes up the entire upper part of the UI for me, requiring me to readd the address bar, refresh, stop, back/forward and home buttons manually. I have the check box unchecked in the advanced settings tab, but it comes bag regardless when a new update is installed.

The one thing I don't understand about Ghostery is that whenever the application updates, the 'Show Ghostery in in navigation bar" is checked AGAIN while I want this unchecked (I use the Show Ghostery in Add-on bar" option). This is on Firefox.
Is this a glitch in the application?

Everytime when Ghostery installs an update, the button in the navigation bar appears even though I deactivated it.
