Upgrades lead to erase (old) settings

Each time Ghostery is upgraded to a newer version automatically in Firefox (Linux/Ubuntu), it erase all my settings, especially the whitelist of websites. It's annoying...to have to export then import. I hope it won't be necessary that future upgrades erase old versions' settings.
