WEB Page Freeze Out

I have set my ghostery controls enough to hopefully stop my actions from being followed regarding advertising and privacy issues. My problem is that when I go to the walmart web site, it will freeze up the page and my cpu to the extent that I have to do a control, alt, delete to stop the process altogether. Afterwards I have to go through the entire ghostery web site options page again. If I pause blocking, it is OK. Any suggestions as to why? Thanks in advance.
