why does ghostery report that none of the pages are scanned?

After the latest update to Ghostery 5.2.1 on Firefox 35.0.5, Ghostery no longer scans any pages. None of my previous settings were maintained either, so I had to reselect all the settings. Whenever I check the Ghostery findings panel, it informs me that the page was not scanned and no items were found.
