Why does G mess up my iGoogle page when it blocks Google Widgets?

I've noticed that Ghostery blocks Google Widgets as it should but also blocks all my gadgets on iGoogle. If I designate this as a "white page" everything works again. I've discovered that Abine blocks the same tracking site on iGoogle without messing up the page. What's up?
