Why does Ghostery reset my preferences EVERY TIME it updates?
It's getting to be a pain to reset all my ghostery settings every time it updates itself and sets itself back to default. Why would it do something so dumb?

Hi Michael,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Which version of Firefox and Ghostery? It shouldn't be overriding your options. Sorry for the inconvenience. -
-
5.0.5 of Ghostery in Firefox 25.0 - but it's done it on previous updates as well. Kicks right into the setup wizard when Firefox launches after the Ghostery update has been downloaded.

Not using any cleaners -

Was there a response for this? I'm encountering the same problem, where Ghostery resets to default during updates. It's getting old, having to reset all the blocks from scratch. I'm using the most updated and official version of Firefox. Don't know what a "roaming profile" is, but I think the answer is no. If by "cleaner" you mean Norton virus protection, but I've been through the settings and there's nothing that would impact Ghostery since the program has auto-approval.

I've had the same problem for quite some time. My os is Fedora 21 64bit, my browser is Firefox version 35.01, but I've had the same problem with previous versions of each. ,

The response from Pete to my comment above solved the problem! Please try the link he provided just above. ^_^

Ghostery 5.4.2 solves that issue.

I'd just ask that you add a select all button that selects all the trackers when you open the show more. Otherwise I love this app. What an eye opener. Best of any I have used!!! Now if we could just get an add on that punches developers in the face that create things like mystartsearch, banner, batch , trivio and all the other virus's or poorly made search engines that silently install to the drive then let loads of other crap on. Getting ridiculous. Or an add on that sends a worse virus back to their server when it trys to attack our computers. ok,,,sorry,,,just had to re-do my computer from scratch from the latest one somehow got on cnet.

Hey Jon,
You're saying add a select all to the panel? That would block all trackers found on the page? If you want to block all do you not have Select All marked in the blocking options section? -
