Ghostery for Thunderbird. Kill the bugs & widgets in my email. It seems a very logical next step.
Email is now basically web pages sent directly to us, crawling with tracking and other web bugs.
Why let them track us every time we open an email. We should be able to kill these bugs as well.

Slik,
Interesting and relevant proposition. We'll consider it and keep you posted. Pleased to have you as a part of the Ghostery community. Feel free to contact me at rose@ghostery.com as well. I'm the community manager.

That would be quite helpful, currently Thunderbird by default simply doesn't run any scripts nor load external files inside email messages, but some people (and companies) like to use external images to not use up space in people's inboxes and don't try to make their messages readable without those; with this valid external images and even more active content can be allowed while still blocking privacy breaking stuff :)

Do you have plans for a ghostery extension to thunderbird?
I assume I can be tracked if I display remote content in emails. If this isn't true I'd appreciate knowing.
