I see this problem in a bunch of threads with a lot of ideas and no solutions.
I get the pop up box of the blocks, but no blue icon to open to choose options. I can't post pictures or videos to Facebook due to blocking of Microsoft Atlas. To unblock it I have to uninstall Ghostery.
What's the real story?

The REAL story is that IE is not very extension friendly. But we are doing our best to make it work with many different versions of windows. Are you running IE 10 in 64 bit or 32 bit mode. I'm running Win7 IE 10 and not having any issues with the icon displaying. could you provide a screenshot? -

I am running Win7 64 bit. I let IE10 install itself. Wouldn't it be 64 bit?

You can run IE in 64 or 32 bit versions from your start menu.. Current Ghostery for IE does not work as expected in 64 bit. You need to run it in 32.

Well first I forced IE into 64 bit mode using these instructions: http://www.ngohq.com/news/23295-how-t.... Uninstalled and reinstalled Ghostery. Got the warning message that ghostery will not run in enhanced protected mode. So I'll uninstall, reconfigure IE, reboot and reinstall in 32 bit mode..........................

Ok, I am in IE10 32 bit, which is the default I believe.
I turned OFF Protected Mode (Control Panel » Internet Options » Security » UnCheck the box of Enable Protected Mode under Internet zone)
Turned off Enhanced Protected mode ( Control Panel » Internet Options » Advanced » Scroll down to Security » UnCheck the box of Enable Enhanced Protected Mode
Reboot
Reinstalled ghostery and the blue icon appears and it works. Now IE is warning me to turn on protected mode. I'll give it a shot and see if it messes with ghostery. -

Turned back on Protected mode and ghostery doesn't work.
What does Protected Mode do? -

Turned it back off and ghostery works. No need to exit IE10 or reboot.
