Hello, Does Ghostery have the capability to block cookies that are granted by user activity with Yahoo! Messenger or JUST Internet browsers ? I have Ghostery V 2.4.2.0 installed and running and I seem to be receiving tracking cookies that are picked up only by my AVG Internety Security suite, they seem to trot right by Ghostery without any blocking. Why is that ?

Hi Jay,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
It could be an issue with the version of Ghostery you are running. It is outdated and there was a bug that caused blocking settings not to be retained. Please update to Ghostery 3.0 for IE and see if you still see the same issues. -

Hi Pete,
So, the best way to do this would be to uninstall the version Im running and download
and run new version ?
I know what you mean with the blocking sometimes just randomly stopping and having re-check
the block-all selection box, I will try this shortly and let you know.
Thank you for the prompt reply, you're level of customer service is truly @ 'Excellence'

Thanks Jay!
I forwarded your suggestion on, so we'll see what happens :-)
You are correct.. remove the older version and download the new one from ghostery.com/download.
The current version has a few quirks that we are working on fixing now.. but the biggest issue is that 3.0 does not work with IE 10. If you run into problems, please feel free to email me pete@ghostery.com and I'll do my best to get the new version working for you.
Thanks again! -
